Tsubaki America Shrine

Tsubaki America Haiden

Tsubaki Shrine is a traditional Jinja Shinto Shrine located on a pristine 25 acre site near Granite Falls Washington, less than 1 hour from Seattle or the Eastside. Tsubaki Shrine is the branch of Ise-no-Kuni-Ichi-no-Miya, Sarutahiko Daihonguu, Tsubaki O Kami Yashiro (est. 3 BCE) one of the oldest and most prestigious shrines in Japan.

Shinto is optimistic and bright. Human life is part of nature and the manifestation of the generative vital forces (musubi). Human life is essentially good and a gift from the divine world - obstructing energies exist but through the purifying (harae), straightening (naobi), and invigorating (kiyome) action of Shinto we can return to harmony with life giving creative power (Kami).

Shinto Ceremony (gishiki) sweeps away tookodori (obscuring stagnant energies) so we may receive Ohmitama (infinite power of Great Nature).

At Tsubaki Shrine there is the Oharae (purification ceremony) as well as Seishiki Sanpai (shrine visit) and Tokubetsu Kigan (special prayers) for individuals, families, and companies such as Shinzen Kekkon Shiki (wedding), Anzan Kigan (safe birth), Hatsumiyamairi (new baby), Kanai Anzen (family safety), Shobai Hanjyou Kigan (business success), Yakubarai (difficult years) and all traditional Jinja Shinto Ceremonies. Tsubaki Shrine staff can also do Jichinsai (ground breaking), Shyunkosai (completion ceremony), Yashiki Harae (new house), Kaiten Harae ( new business) and other ceremonies away from the shrine.

Gosaijin (main Kami) of Tsubaki Shrine is Sarutahiko-no-O-Kami, primal earthly kami of guidance, positiveness and protection. Also enshrined is Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto, kami of arts and entertainment, harmony, meditation and joy. As they are a wedded couple. Tsubaki Shrine is the place to pray for a happy home, family prosperity and safety.
